BOOKING CONDITIONS OF Blue Skies Ahead (BSA) CIC

 

We are a social enterprise. We aim to provide bursaries for local young people to undertake outdoor activity training. You can play your part by helping us to minimise costs by cleaning up after use and packing out what you pack in as far as possible.

Please note we offer special rates for recognised youth groups and DoFe exclusive bookings.

 

Hostel bookings

 

CANCELLATION POLICY (Individuals and up to 10 people)


- 100% refund if cancelled up to 7 days prior to arrival.
- Cancellation under 7 days no refund can be offered and full payment is taken at that time.

 

GROUP BOOKINGS DEPOSIT/CANCELLATION POLICY

- TEN or more are considered group bookings and require a 50% deposit. Full payment is required 4 weeks prior to arrival.

- 100% refund if cancelled up to 8 weeks prior to arrival. 

-  50% refund of total booking cost if cancelled up to 28 days prior to arrival. 

-  Cancellation under 28 days no refund can be offered.

WEEKENDS AND BANK HOLIDAYS (usually but check)

- Weekends/Bank holidays: Minimum 2 night stay (Friday/Saturday/Monday)

HOSTEL RULES
- Please ensure that you leave the communal areas, kitchen and bathroom facilities as you found them so that others can enjoy as you did.
- Please re-cycle as much as you can, in the kitchen there are boxes to separate waste.

- We have a strict no noise policy after 10.30pm. Please ensure that you are respectful to fellow guests after this time in particular, especially around the communal areas. We have families and tired walkers building up their energy for the next day! 
- Security Deposit - any damage to the hostel may result in money being deducted from the booking card. Please let our staff know if anything is broken, we are always keen to discuss breakages before any charges are made.

 

HOSTEL ACCESS

- Check-in is between 5pm and 8pm (A late or early check-in can be organised upon request by calling). 
- Check out by 10am (we do not offer late check-out). 
- No curfews in the evenings - you're free to come and go as you wish as long as you keep noise to a minimum after 10.30pm.

 

CAR PARKING

We have a car park for approx 8-10 cars. Please park with others in mind - double parkers will be contacted to move their vehicle! 

 

LINEN & TOWELS

Bed linen is provided and is hypo-allergenic. Please bring your own towels. We request that guests make their beds and strip their linen on check out.

 

Wi-Fi

We provide wifi. But we are a long way from the box  so the service can sometimes be slow or not at all!

Dogs

Because of family allergies we do not take dogs or pets.

 

 

Exclusive bookings

 

The person whose name appears on the Booking Form agrees to take full responsibility for ensuring that all members of the party adhere to the Conditions of Let set out below:

 

  1. The number of people occupying the Property or room is limited to that stated on the website, unless by prior consent with the Owner.

You must pay a minimum of 50% of the rental price on booking, with the remainder of the balance payable 28 days before your booking date. If a booking is made less than 21 days before the start of the booking date, please send the full rental charge at the time of booking. Failure to pay the balance of rental charges, or failure to allow BSA to take the balance by credit card by the due date (21 days prior to arrival), will result in BSA treating the Property as available for re-booking. No reminders are sent out.

  1. Please notify BSA of any cancellation in writing. If a notice of cancellation is received between the dates of your deposit being received and the final payment being due then the deposit will be retained unless the Property can be re-let. If cancellation is made within four weeks of the holiday start (i.e. the whole rent has been paid) then the whole amount paid will be retained.
     

  2. To safeguard against cancellation charges & other unforeseen eventualities we strongly recommend Cancellation Insurance.
     

  3. Should the Property or rooms, subsequent to booking, become unavailable through any cause, you must accept that BSA’s liability is limited to the amount of any rent paid.
     

  4. You accept that the responsibility for personal property of guests occupying the accommodation is solely theirs. All vehicles are also left at the guests risk. Guests agree to absolve BSA of any responsibility for any accident or mishap to persons or property whilst on the premises or whilst engaged in any activity therein, or from any illness or injury arising from any causes whatsoever.
     

  5. You agree to use the Property solely for its intended purpose as self-catering accommodation and to accept the BSA’s right to refuse to hand over the Property to any person deemed unsuitable to take charge. Causing a nuisance or disturbance to neighbours or other guests, unreasonable behaviour or disrupting the running of the business may result in BSA requesting you to leave.

  6. You agree to allow BSA access to the Property at all reasonable times.

  7. You must respect and look after your accommodation during your stay and you must leave the Property clean and tidy. Please let us know of any damage or breakages so we can repair or replace them for the next guests. We reserve the right to charge for any damage or breakages on the card used to book either the hostel or the cottage, with the minimum being £10 per item broken.
     

  8. You must vacate the Property by 10am at the latest on your day of departure unless special arrangements have been made with the Owner. This is to allow us to prepare the Property for the next guests.
     

  9. Guest arrival time is from 5pm – 8pm. Other times may be possible by arrangement.

  10. The use of your own personal electrical equipment is out of our control from a Fire Assessment Regulation perspective, and must therefore be at your own personal risk.
     

  11. Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age.
     

  12. BSA reserve the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.
     

  13. It is the guests duty to ensure that the property is left clean on departure i.e. please empty bins, clean dirty dishes. BSA reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the client leaves the property in an unacceptable condition.
     

  14. It is against the law to smoke anywhere on the premises. It also presents an unacceptable fire risk. Any breach will result immediate termination of occupancy and a charge of £100. Breaches may be reported to the prosecuting authorities.

  15. Damage to property – Please treat the facilities & accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice damage in your accommodation please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there have been any breakages during your stay, we would be grateful if you could replace them or advise us before you leave. The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the stay & you may be charged for any loss or damage found.
     

  16. The guest may in no circumstance re-let or sublet the property, even free of charge.
     

  17. BSA shall not be liable for any temporary defect or malfunction of any equipment, machinery or appliance in the building or grounds.
     

  18. Children under 18 must be supervised by their parents/guardians at all times.
     

  19. We reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others.
     

  20. Any problem or complaint which the client may have concerning their holiday must be immediately reported directly to us and we will endeavour to put matters right. Any complaints not reported to us/the property manager at the time and only reported after the client has returned from holiday will not be considered by the proprietor.
     

  21. We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.
     

  22. This property is privately owned and is our home. We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the property with the same respect that they would with their own house.
